Design workflows and edit scripts
Arrange connected steps, organize Python files, and understand the editor’s current limits.
Build a workflow diagram
Create a project and workflow in the workspace. Add trigger and worker nodes, drag them into place, and connect outputs to inputs. Marquee selection helps move multiple nodes together. Workflows support renaming, deletion, undo, and autosave.
Edit Python step files
Python step folders are scoped to the project and workflow, with main.py as the entry file. Use the file editor to manage script contents. In Local, Open in can hand a script to supported installed editors, Finder, or terminals. Hosted editions block commands that would open programs on the server.
Use the optional Local assistant
The Local script assistant uses an installed, signed-in AI command. With the default Codex integration, Sign in with ChatGPT starts the official browser sign-in flow. Codex manages its own credentials.
Prompts and script contents can leave your machine for the configured AI service. Review your organization’s data policy before using it. PAPLIBA_ALLOW_AI=false disables this capability. Local AI command execution is disabled in hosted editions.
Save and upgrade safely
Workspace state and script files are stored by the runner. Back up the whole Local data directory or the hosted database and application volume before upgrading. Local workspaces are not automatically copied into a hosted account.
