Read your Azure network
Inspect VNet peerings, drill into subnets, and understand address-space allocation.
Explore the network overview
Open Azure → Network. Pan and zoom to inspect virtual networks, subnet ranges, DNS settings, and directed peering relationships. Select a connection to read its settings. Each VNet identifies its subscription.
Refresh network loads configuration from accessible subscriptions. Returning to the window after a short pause also refreshes the view. You can pause the connection animation; it does not indicate measured traffic.
Inspect a virtual network
- Select a VNet in the diagram, or open VNet from the sidebar and search by name, range, resource group, or region.
- Inspect subnets and attached resources. Attachments use explicit network, NIC, subnet, and service references.
- Read missing-data warnings. A shared resource group does not imply that a resource belongs inside a VNet.
Use VNet spaces
Inside a VNet, choose VNet spaces to see address ranges and subnets drawn to scale. Select a subnet for its range and configuration. IPv4 and IPv6 are shown separately.
Allocation describes address space assigned to subnets. It is not the number of live or occupied IP addresses. Unallocated ranges can help with planning, but verify Azure constraints before making changes.
Interpret the topology carefully
Hub and spoke labels describe the visible peering pattern. A subnet name is not evidence of a firewall or gateway. Incomplete reads and remote networks outside the available inventory are identified; the diagram does not prove that traffic can flow.
